January 21: Special Olympics Mississippi will play Special Olympics Alabama in a traditional basketball exhibition during halftime of the MSU vs. Auburn game in Auburn, AL

February 14: Polarpalooza Festival featuring the Polar Plunge and music from North Mississippi Allstars, Jarekus Singleton, Mustache the Band and Stogdaddy and the Good Time Band

March 28: SOMS State Basketball & Soccer Tournament

May 8 - 10: SOMS State Summer Games at Keesler AFB, Biloxi

July 26 - August 2: Special Olympics World Games, Los Angeles

August 20: Hit a Home Run for Special Olympics, Trustmark Park, Pearl

August 21: State Softball Tournament

October 9 - 10: State Fall Games at Camp Shelby, Hattiesburg

October 31: Lucky 7 Run

November 19: Unified Egg Bowl, University of Mississippi Campus

December 10: Countdown to Victory, Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame, Jackson

 

Social Media

Special Olympics is run almost entirely by volunteers. Over 6,000 volunteers provide manpower for Special Olympics Mississippi. The volunteers include, high school & college students, retired persons, members of civic & fraternal groups, amateur & professional athletes, sports officials & coaches, teachers, parents, and law enforcement personnel.
